The two most meaningful modules i took in this course are Module 6: Love and Module 9: Service Commitment. The module about love made an impact on me because all my life, i am only able to define love as: (1) God, (2) 1 Corinthians 13, and (3) that feeling you share with your friends and family. It is through Module 6 that i actually learned a more precise and detailed definition of love, its five kinds, and the true meaning of love. I also see Module 9 as meaningful because it (once again) awakened the nationalistic part of me that wants to express her views of what a true good Filipino should be. The module also affirmed to me that I am proud to be a Filipino, and that no matter what happens, I will always be a proud Filipino.
PERSEF activities have taught me to analyze any situation given to me and to think before i act, because aside from the module lectures themselves, we were also required to do essays and other output that show what we have learned and reflected during the module. Also, I was able to apple module lectures into my everyday life (ex. “Etiquette”)
Over these past months, i have been more sensitive to the environment and the people I interact with, I have become a bit bolder when facing acquaintances, and my so-called “snobby- ness” (which depends on the number of people I am comfortable with in a given situation) has subsided.
PERSEF, all in all, made me more aware and active as a Filipino, Christian and Lasallian. Now i know my responsibilities, rights and privileges, and what I stand for. It gave me a chance to express my views regarding the modules and reflect on them, and that made me a better person.
